Mission Statement: (See Web Site For Updated Information)
GLOBAL LINKS is a not-for-profit organization located in Bloomfield. Founded in 1989, our organization recovers surplus medical materials from local hospitals and donates them to healthcare providers in developing countries. In 2005, Global Links recovered nearly 35 tons of unused surplus; and with the help of volunteers we packed and shipped over 13 million worth of supplies to partner hospitals primarily in Latin America and the Caribbean. Global Links is a unique opportunity where residents of Pittsburgh make an impact on the local and global community by helping sort and pack surplus supplies. Volunteers are trained on-site how to pack these valuable supplies. Able to accommodate individuals or groups of 4-12 maximum. We are also seeking medical volunteers to assist in identifying materials from their particular specialty (from Anesthesia to General Surgery to Urology). ALL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES ARE IN THE PITTSBURGH AREA.
